You don’t need to spend a mint when you visit Denver, Colorado. Some of the best sightseeing and activities in this Mile-High City are free. Well, that’s after you’ve booked accommodation at one of the Colorado boutique hotels that downtown Denver is internationally known for. Now, back to the free stuff! Listed below are only a hand-full of free things you can enjoy during your stay in Denver.

The 16th Street Pedestrian Mall , which is the main downtown thoroughfare, has a Trolley that is free! The Pedestrian Mall is 15 blocks lined with shops and restaurants. In the summertime there are often street performers entertaining the crowds either with music or the antics of clowns to magicians. The Trolley runs up and down the mall all day long and it will give you a great overview of what’s happening all along the mall.

Money is made at the Denver’s US Mint building . Tours are absolutely free and are offered on the hour from 8am to 2pm. Reservation is highly recommended, but you can still take your chances for a walk-up tour.

With over 850 miles of off-street bike paths, it’s time to hit the trails. Do as the locals do and use Denver’s vast urban trail system that follows Cherry Creek and also along the Platte River.
