The sun has set, somewhere, in the western sky. The amazing dinner and early cocktails have given a boost to your energy and you are in New York City. Can’t just go back to the NY hotel room and sleep. That would be such a waist of valuable night life time in the city that never sleeps. That’s right. You could take a nap, if you really have too, but you have to get yourself up and hit the town because this is one of the sights New York is known for.

So where do you go? I am sure you could get a tip from the concierge, everyone in the city has their favorite place. I suppose it depends on what you like to do. How about seeing some live music at a great club. Is jazz a style of music that you like? If so, check out Arthur’s Tavern    this tavern has been hosting some amazing talent since 1937. This historical club was a regular host to the likes of Charlie Parker and the great Roy Hargrove. They offer up all the different styles of jazz such as New Orleans style, straight up jazz, Chicago blues and on Monday nights you can catch some Dixieland jazz. So there is no excuse that you only have a Monday night to party. This is were it is at.

If you are planning to see Time Square all light up then check out the one and only B.B. King Club . If you napped through dinner time, no worries, this club has got and early and later dinner menu. You will see all styles of music performed at the B.B. King Club. Recently, the calendar has stars like Patti LaBelle and Southside Johnny&The; Asbury Jukes. The list of greats is endless. They also offer some other events such as the Gospel Brunch. Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 they offer up some Southern food and soulful live music by the Harlem Gospel Choir.

There are many other great places to catch live music in the city so get up and get out!
