Trends in window treatments are often changing. These seven ideas are timeless and will make a house a classic beauty that will last even as the housing styles change.

    Use Natural Material
Bamboo and other natural materials are beautiful and will give your house more living energy. It can be used to fully block out the light from the outside, or it can be used to let some light in and brighten up a room.

    Layer the Shades
Put up a sheer shade and a black out shade on top of each other. If you want no light you can lower the blackout shade and if you just need privacy you can leave the blackout shade up and the sheer shade down.

    Shapes
If you are bored with your solid color shades, find shades with shapes and alternate colors. This will brighten up your house and give your house a more cheerful feel.

    Light
Let the light in. Nothing is better for this than airy blinds and bright color s that will amplify the light. Know the type of light that will come into the room and choose your color accordingly.

    Decorate the Trim
Find some beading or a trim that you like and personalize the blinds the way you like them. If you can’t sew them on there are a number of people around your town than can fix them up. It might cost you a few dollars, but it might be worth it for custom window treatments.

    Neutrals and brights
Use either neutral colored blinds against a brightly colored wall, or use brightly colored blinds against a neutral wall. Browns and earthy tones go well against all bright colors, so if you use wooden blinds, they will go well with any color room you have.

    Mix and Match
Don’t use the same type of blinds in every room of the house. Changing blinds can be a good way to indicate a change in scenery between rooms.
