    How many times have we gone to some historical place and decided to just go it alone. Didn’t want to be apart of a crowd. Wanted to go where the locals go and stay away from the tourists. Well when visiting a city with major historical significance like Philadelphia one may want to take a deep breath and make an exception to the self imposed rule. Sometimes it is best to let the locals who have spent lots of time studying the sights lead you around. One of the tours that is interesting in Philadelphia is the Constitutional Walking Tour . Put on a broken in pair of good walking shoes and walk the path that the forefathers walked while creating the vision for our country. There are about 20 sights to see just in one swoop around the old town. This particular tour starts you at the Independence Visitor Center which is across from the were the original President’s House was once located. It is now a garden but it was the site of the first white house from 1790 to 1800 when Philadelphia was the capital of the U.S.. Then they walk you past the Declaration House were Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence. Then down the signers walk which is a sidewalk along chestnut street that has plaques of the many of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. Then around to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The tour guide will take you to see some of the firsts of the country such as the first 2 banks of the U.S.. Then there is the Benjamen Franklin Post Office and Court. As well as the Betsy Ross House were the she made the first flags.
