Denver is Better the Second Time Around

I left the Grand Canyon National park and made my way to Denver, Colorado. I drove up through southern Colorado and went past some of the most lush farmland that I’ve ever seen. I felt like, if I was a farmer, that I was in a farmers dreamland; with the Rockies as a backdrop and woodlands in the foreground who would want to farm anywhere else? No wonder the southern part of Colorado is considered prime real estate.
This was my second visit to Denver and this time I had a better experience than my initial visit. In my first visit, Denver felt like a ghost town, like there was really nothing to do there unless you knew how to ski, but this time I had a great couple of nights out in Downtown Denver; mostly due to my friend from London and to where my hotel was located. I though it was one of the best denver hotels .
The only reason I came back to Denver, which I wouldn’t have done on my own, was to pick up a friend of mine at the Denver airport who was flying in from London. This was the juncture where he would join me in my tour of America. I remember asking him if he would fly into any other city other than Denver, but he told me that it would be alright and to just make sure I was there at the airport to pick him up.
When he arrived, I found that he was correct, it was all alright, he managed to show me where to find the better parts of Denver. For instance, the Cherry Creek District, what a wonderfully developed area with plenty of shopping and a few very cool farmers markets that reminded me of back home. Then we took the Coors Brewery tour, not my favorite American beer, but the tour was really fun.
I have to say, being in Denver with someone who knows where to find the fun is the best way to see Denver, that’s if you don’t ski.
