New Yorks Best Pizza

After arriving in New York City at 5:30am, and after running around parts of Manhattan that we could fit in, we just had to spend a few hours napping at one of the top New York City hotels, where we had booked a room for 2 nights. The room was great, but with jet-lag and running around, we were too tired to care. It was around 8pm before we stirred and then decided to venture back out and get some dinner. The long day was still dragging on us, but we didn’t want to miss any more opportunities to explore one of the best cities in the world.
We wanted to see if we could find a place that offered the best authentic New York style pizza. We headed to Grimaldi’s, which was in Brooklyn and not in Manhattan. I did some research on the Internet and Grimaldi’s was rated the best pizza in all of New York City. We had a bit of an ordeal about finding the right subway stop, so we just got off at what we thought was the right place, and we lucked out, because Grimaldi’s wasn’t to far away, we only had to walk about 15 minutes. Once we arrived, we ordered several different slices and chowed down, we were so hungry. The pizza was so delicious. We devoured all our slices so quickly that we were begging to wonder if we didn’t order enough, but when a antipasto dish arrived, with a mound of salami, chunks of mozzarella, marinated tomatoes and kalamata olives served with a basket of toasted bread, we were set, stuffed and ready to be rolled out.
By the time we finished dinner, it was 11pm, and we decided since we were so close to the Brooklyn Bridge we might as well walk across it. There were very few people walking across since it was so late at night, which made our stroll even more enjoyable that if it was during the day and full of tourist. At the half-way point, we stopped and took in the view of the Manhattan skyline. After really enjoying ourselves, we once again headed back to our hotel to get a well deserved good nights sleep.
